Discover

Discover gathers the highlights from across Tierline on one page, with pictures: the brands spreading fastest, each shown by its label; what the national distributors won and lost; what the big supplier groups just filed; and the flavors and styles heating up. It’s the same page for everyone, from public records only, and each section leads to the page that has the whole of it.

Brands to watch

Discover in Tierline's demo: a thin photo of a bar's copper taps, one row of choices for the states and the last 7, 30 or 90 days, then Brands to watch as four big cards, each a brand's front label shown large with its tags, the states it's new in, who files it and its distributors' marks, and a row of the biggest launches at TTB as smaller label cards.
Discover over the last 30 days, every state. The numbers on the picture match the list below.

How to read it

  1. 1.

The states, Every state unless you choose (Your states, your home states, or any with Choose states), and the period: the last 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. Brands to watch and the big houses follow them.

  2. 2.

Brands to watch: the brands new to the most states in the period. See every new brand opens the whole list.

  3. 3.

A brand: its front label, large, as its mark; Expanding if it was already registered in 3 or more other states, New brand if its first TTB label is less than a year old; the states it’s new in; who files its labels, with its supplier group’s mark; and the distributors the states name. The card opens the brand’s page.

  4. 4.

Biggest launches at TTB: brands whose first label TTB approved in the period, the most labels first, a few of each category, outside the big supplier groups. They’re national.

Good to know

  • A brand’s picture is the front of its newest label from TTB’s public form. Tierline has no brand logos of its own yet.
  • Tierline remembers the states you chose last on any page, so Discover can open on your states. Every state brings them all back.

The big houses, the big groups and what’s heating up

The lower half of Discover: the big houses as cards with each national distributor's mark, its brands won, lost and new and a small strip of won and lost by day; the big supplier groups' cards, each with its mark, its label count and a strip of its newest labels; and Heating up, six rising terms with small line charts.

How to read it

  1. 1.

The big houses: the national distributors, each with its logo, the brands it won and lost and the brands new to a state with it, in the states and period chosen. The labels beside its logo are brands it won.

  2. 2.

Under each, a column a day (a week over 90 days): brands won above the line, lost below. The card opens the distributor’s page, on the same states and period.

  3. 3.

The big groups’ new labels: the major supplier groups that filed the most labels in the period, each with its logo, its new brands and new items, and its newest labels, new brands first.

  4. 4.

Heating up: flavors, styles and cocktails taking a clearly bigger share of brands than a year ago, each with its line over the last three years. A term opens its page in Trends.

What to do here

  • See what’s spreading in your territory

Choose Your states and 30 days, then read Brands to watch: each card says where the brand is new and who carries it there.

  • Keep an eye on a big house

Open its card, then press Follow on its page: your briefing tells you when it picks up a brand.

Good to know

  • Won: a brand it picked up that another wholesaler already carried, or one that moved to it. Lost: a brand that moved away, or one it stopped carrying. States whose registrations don’t name the wholesaler have none.
  • The big groups’ labels and the trends are national: TTB approves labels for every state, so the states you choose don’t change them.
