Coverage

Every label, nationwide. Distributors, state by state.

TTB nationwide plus 29 states. TTB’s label approvals are national, so every label it approves is in Tierline the day it’s approved, whichever state it’s headed for. Brand registrations come from the states we read, and we add states as they open up.

What the states publish

Three kinds of record, one place to read them

The distributor, named

In many states, a supplier registers each brand with the state and names the wholesaler that will carry it. Where it does, you see who picked up what, and which brands moved from one wholesaler to another.

Brand lists

Other states publish what's registered or listed for sale without naming a distributor. You still see every brand the day it arrives in the state.

Labels, everywhere

Every label TTB approves, for every state, back to 2016: the first public sign of a new brand, wherever it's headed.

Going national

More states, as they open up

Each state publishes its registrations its own way: a search page, a download, a list. We add a state when we can read it reliably and match it to TTB's labels.

Coverage, answered

What's a brand registration?
Before a brand can be sold in most states, its supplier registers it with the state, and in many states names the distributor that will carry it. The records are public; Tierline reads them and links each one to its brand and its TTB labels.
My state isn't covered yet. Is Tierline still worth it?
TTB's label approvals are national, so a new brand's labels show up the day TTB approves them, with its maker, whichever state it's headed for. Where the brand is registered in a state we cover, you see that too.
How fresh is it?
Each state's record is read as the state publishes it, and TTB's labels every morning. Your briefing covers what arrived since the one before it, and waits for that morning's data before it goes.
What does each state give me?
Some states name the distributor that carries each brand; others publish brand lists. Either way you see every brand the day it arrives in the state. Once you're in, Registrations shows what each state we read gives you.
Do you cover markets outside the US?
No, the US market only. Imported brands are in it: every import needs a US label, so it appears the day TTB approves it.
