The three-tier trade

One line through every tier

Makers file the labels, distributors pick the brands up, stores and bars put them in front of people. Tierline follows each brand along that line, state by state.

Tier one · Makers

Every label they file

Brewers, wineries, distillers and importers: every label TTB approves for them, the day it’s approved, matched to the maker behind it.

A distributor's warehouse: racks of cases on pallets

Tier two · Distributors

Every brand they pick up

Which wholesaler took on which brand, in which state, and since when: one company across all the states it works in.

Tier three · Stores and bars

Every brand on its way to them

The brands registered in your states before they reach the shelves and the taps, so the first call is yours.

How it works: three steps, every morning, on their own

  1. Step 1

We read it all, every morning

From 6:30 am Eastern: every label TTB approves, TTB's permit list, and the brand registrations the states publish.

  2. Step 2

    We connect the dots

Each brand to its maker, the distributors that carry it, and every state it's registered in.

  3. Step 3

    You know first

A short briefing at the hour you choose, once that morning's data is in, and every detail one click away.

Coverage

Every label, nationwide. Distributors, state by state.

TTB nationwide plus 29 states. TTB’s approvals are national, so every new label is in, whichever state it’s headed for; brand registrations come from the states we read, and where a state names the distributor, so does Tierline.

Brand moves

Know who picked it up, and from whom

The trade’s quiet moves, in plain view: which wholesaler took on a brand, which one carried it before, and who’s building the book you compete with.

  • Every pickup, move and drop between wholesalers, in the states that name the distributor
  • Brand flow: a state's wholesalers day by day, with a curve from where each brand came
  • Won and lost on every distributor's page, and the week's moves in your briefing
Brand flow: one state's wholesalers day by day, with the brands each took on, new to the state or from another wholesaler, and a curve from where each came from

Supplier maps

Where a supplier's brands are, on one map

Open any supplier or supplier group and see its footprint before the meeting: where its brands are registered, who carries them, and what it filed lately.

  • Every state we read, shaded by how many of its brands are registered there
  • Pick a state: the distributors carrying its brands, and its brands there
  • Its active labels, newest registrations and brand moves below

Every new label

Every label TTB approves, every day

Hundreds of labels a day, grouped so the ones that matter stand out: new brands, new items from brands you know, and the major groups’ filings.

  • A day's labels as one picture, by type or by supplier
  • Zoom into a category, or show only new brands and new items

Ask

Ask the market a question

Ask in plain words: which brands are new in your states, who picked them up, which distributors won the most brands. Answers are written by AI from Tierline’s own data and nothing else.

  • Answers with label pictures, brand and distributor cards, tables and charts
  • Under every answer, where its numbers came from, and a link to dig further
  • Up to 40 questions a day for each person

Questions, answered

Where does the data come from?
Public records only: TTB's Public COLA Registry (every label approval) and its list of permit holders, and the brand registrations each state publishes. Every fact in Tierline links back to its source.
Which states do you cover?
Every state for TTB labels, because TTB’s approvals are national. For brand registrations, the 29 states we read, and we add states as they open up. See the map.
How fresh is it?
Each state's record is read as the state publishes it: most daily, a few weekly. Your briefing covers what arrived since the one before it. It comes at your hour, or as soon as that morning's data is in if that's later, and by noon your time at the latest.
What is Ask?
A place in Tierline to ask about the market in plain words. Answers are written by AI from Tierline's own data and nothing else: the labels TTB approves and the state registries we read, never the web. Each answer shows the label pictures, brands, distributors, tables or charts behind it, and where its numbers came from. Each person can ask up to 40 questions a day.
Can I try it?
Sign-ups are closed for now. Write to hello@tandem.bi to ask for access. A new account has 14 days free, with everything in it and no card needed.
Can my whole team use it?
Yes. Invite your team; each person sets up their own briefing for their own states. Team covers up to 10 people, and Enterprise as many as you need.
Is it only for US brands?
It covers the US market. Imported brands are in it too: every import needs a US label, so it appears the day TTB approves it.
Can I cancel?
Any time, in two clicks, from billing. Your plan runs to the end of what you paid for.

Start knowing first.
